Karmen Sauser

President

Karmen Sauser, a passionate educator and community theater enthusiast, has dedicated over 20 years to teaching in Antelope County schools. As both a classroom and substitute teacher, she has influenced countless students with her dedication to education and the arts. Karmen's involvement in community theater, directing one-act plays and promoting the arts, reflects her commitment to fostering a vibrant cultural scene.

Her vision for the New Moon Community Theater includes revitalizing it as a venue for high school, community and children's theater productions, comedy nights, music and so much more. Karmen believes in the transformative power of the arts and is excited to see the theater become a cornerstone of cultural and artistic activity in Antelope County. Her dedication to education and the arts makes her a valuable asset to the theater's leadership team, ensuring that the next generation has access to quality arts experiences.

Ginny Garzón

Secretary

Ginny was born and raised in Antelope County. She currently works as an international education consultant and her work is focused on providing teams with tools to focus on improved operations in education abroad.

Ginny's dedication to the arts began in her youth, participating in choir and theater throughout her high school years.  She earned a vocal scholarship to Augustana University and was a member of the Collegiate Chorale, Women’s Chorus, and a campus praise and worship team. After 14 years in Florida, her return to Antelope County was motivated by a desire to be closer to family and to contribute to the community's cultural and arts enrichment. She is excited to leverage her career expertise to help reclaim the historic New Moon Community Theater, creating arts and entertainment opportunities for the community.

Kristin Rice

Treasurer

A passionate advocate for community development, Kristin, grew up on a farm near Neligh and brings a unique perspective to the New Moon Community Theater. As one of the last generations to have to rewind VCR tapes and rent movies, she attended New Moon Theatre briefly, but was not around for its heyday. Kristin is deeply committed to seeing it restored to its former glory. Her dedication to community improvement drives her involvement in the theater's financial stewardship.

Kristin's vision is to create a thriving cultural hub that serves future generations, preserving cherished memories while creating new ones. She believes in the power of the arts to bring people together and enrich lives, and she is excited to contribute to the theater's revitalization. Kristin's practical approach and passion for community development make her a vital part of the theater's leadership team.

New Moon Memory: Fighting with my siblings over which movie to rent for family nights, and school reading parties at the theater when we met our goals.

 
 
 

Will Paul

board Member

Will is an enthusiastic advocate for our local arts, dedicated to nurturing the New Moon Theater so future generations of Antelope County kids can experience the magic of film and storytelling. He’s excited to see the New Moon signage glowing outside once more and want to keep the lights shining bright for years to come.

Will believes that every member of the community should be able to grab a bag of freshly popped popcorn and experience modern art as it was meant to be viewed in a theater setting.

Sue Williams

board Member

Sue is is the elementary principal at Neligh-Oakdale Public Schools and a passionate educator and joins her fellow board members in their commitment to revitalizing the New Moon Community Theater. She envisions a wide range of events for all ages, including musical performances, classical and modern plays, poetry readings, and improv for all  levels.

Sue believes this historic venue has the potential to become a cornerstone of the community, enriching lives for generations. She is excited to work with others to make this vision a reality and ensure the New Moon's continued success.

New Moon Memory: The New Moon Theater holds a special place in my family's heart. My parents shared stories of attending movies there while they attended Neligh High School, and later in his life, my dad helped his sister with the spotlight as high school students took to the stage for their speeches.

 
 
 

Chase Kallhoff

Board Member

Chase Kallhoff brings both professional expertise and a lifelong appreciation for the arts to the New Moon Community Theater Board. A proud alumnus of Neligh-Oakdale High School, Chase was a dedicated member of the speech team and earned a gold medal at the Nebraska State Speech Championships—a testament to his early passion for performance and storytelling.

Professionally, Chase works in the tech industry, where he helps organizations improve communication and build stronger workplace cultures. His work is rooted in creating meaningful connections—values that align closely with the mission of community theater.

Chase is excited to invest in the future of the arts close to home. He looks forward to seeing the renovated theater become a vibrant space where families, including his own, can gather, celebrate creativity, and make lasting memories.

Stephanie Lundgren

board liaison - Neligh City Council

Stephanie Lundgren, a lifelong resident of Neligh, except for a brief period in Kansas City, has always been connected to the New Moon Theater. As a Professional Development Coordinator at Educational Service Unit 8, she supports fine arts education and enjoys teaching art to learning center students. Stephanie's personal experiences at the theater, from childhood movie outings to organizing school trips, fuel her commitment to its revitalization.

Stephanie's vision for the theater is to see it flourish as a center for community engagement and entertainment once again. She aims to support fine arts teachers and provide quality arts experiences for the community. Stephanie's dedication to education and the arts, along with her personal connection to the theater, makes her a valuable asset to the theater's leadership team.

New Moon Memory: Taking my 2nd grade class to the movies on the last day of school each year and the fun we had with a theater full of Neligh-Oakdale students!
